Immortalized by John Steinbeck’s Cannery Row, Monterey was once the sardine packing capital of its industry, but there is nothing stinky about this place now! Fly into San Fran and drive down the coast on Hwy. 1 to this hamlet by the sea.
With high temperatures in the low 60’s even in December- Monterey (not to be confused with Monterrey, Mexico) is a wonderful place to visit year round. Whether whale watching or world renowned golf tickles your fancy, you will find it here. And foodies… come with an appetite! Carmel-by-the-Sea is home to over 50 restaurants. Here are a few links to my favorite hotels, as well as things to do in this incredible gem of California.
Wishing you the best,
PT
