Yet, recently – and by accident – it happened… an 87 year old was participating in a study about epilepsy when the patient had a heart attack and died while still being monitored. Studying two intervals around the time that the heart stopped, they found brainwaves associated with dreaming, memory retrieval, and mediation – with results showing that the mind continued to work even after blood stopped flowing to it.
